Makes us want to ride…..
(via motorwerx)

The long journey from Clackamas, OR to Orange, VA is over and the 3rd and what looks to be the final Operator iPhone Case is here.
We’ve reduced the overall size for weight and ergonomic considerations and allowed better access to the phone’s controls. It’s an incredible piece of “kit” if we don;t say so ourselves!
As is evident, the prototype has not been PVD coated but rest assured the production cases will. We still have some “tuning” here and there to complete - edges relieved, openings nudged over a bit - but the overall functionality and look is there.
We can’t be more pleased with the staff at CRB Manufacturing, they’ve been more than patient and helpful!
Stay tuned for further updates as we near our kickstarter launch!

More craft.

NVG Training - 30 degrees, little ambient light, nothing but NODs’!
Working with various special forces groups gives me a chance to talk to some real-life heroes! I get a ton of inspiration for gear from these guys and feel honored to be able to train them. Just about every major outdoor gear and clothing company has some type of product issued to SOCOM groups in all branches - it’s a one of the best proving grounds for gear and their feedback proves invaluable.
We’re all lucky these guys are on our side!

The 2nd Operator Prototype
Patience is a virtue but the pursuit of it is miserable!
We’ve been waiting “patiently” here at HEPHAESTUS while trying to have our third, and hopefully final, prototype completed. We have people telling us that we could have had 1,000 prototypes made over seas by now but that is not an option for us. We want all design and manufacturing done here in the US.
We’ve been through 3 different machinists trying to have the Operator iPhone Case prototype made but we’ve definitely found one company that has chosen to step up to the plate!
Brian and his team at CRB Manufacturing have been more than helpful and professional while helping small company like us with a big dream. Through phone conversations and many e-mails we’ve been able to get the machines cutting! CRB is a busy US-based company that has enough multi-million dollar accounts to not have to deal with a couple of shrimps like us but Brian understands that the big companies gotta start out small.
We’ll hopefully have the third prototype in our hands before the end of the month so keep tuning in! (Remember, patience is a virtue.)

Well, we’re on Facebook and you know what that means - you can officially “like us”!
Hopefully our posts here will end up there. (This whole social media thing is kicking our ass!)

We went through the last batch and just received a new batch of our HEAPHAESTUS stickers.
